My intention was to post all sorts of Valentines in February, but it just didn't happen.
This box of
TaleSpin Valentines from the early 1990s is very stylish, and still sealed. The price was marked $2.69, but I got these for 99 cents many years ago.
From an artistic standpoint, I think the
TaleSpin series would have looked especially cool if the characters had been drawn in this fashion.
I'd like to see a dark gritty Tale Spin comic drawn this way!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like Tigger on the far left. Was he in Talespin?
ReplyDeleteI like your new blog header with you as a Muppet....very cool!
Open it! Open it! Open it!
ReplyDeleteDarrin: That is a great idea! Maybe someday they'll decide to revive TaleSpin in comic book form in this style. Somewhere I have paper airplane cutouts of Baloo and Don Karnage with this look (they'll be on this blog once I find them).
ReplyDeleteTokyoMagic!: The character on the far left is a goofy lion mechanic named Wildcat. In one episode of the series, he gets in an accident, and is mistaken for Shere Khan the Tiger.
I'm glad you like my Muppet-inspired blog header--Thanks!
Peyton: I knew you were a troublemaker--Ha ha! I'm pretty sure I have an open box in storage, and when I find that, I'm posting the rest of the cards.
