Winnie the Pooh and the Swan and Dolphin, Too!

The Walt Disney World Swan and Walt Disney World Dolphin are hotels designed by architect Michael Graves. They opened near Epcot and the Disney MGM Studios (now known as Disney's Hollywood Studios) in 1990. They are considered Disney Resorts, and are on Disney property, but they are not owned by Disney. The Dolphin is run by Sheraton Hotels, and the Swan is operated by Westin Hotels. The Dolphin and Swan were brand new when I got this map.

These imaginative resorts are striking, especially in person, with their giant Swan and Dolphin statues and impressive fountains. The statues were very easy to see if you were visiting Epcot's World Showcase.

I have seen a plush version of the Dolphin "character" on Ebay before. The Dolphin statues on the hotel are not based on the actual mammal, but on a design seen in artwork and statues like the Triton Fountain in Rome.

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh attraction debuted at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom in 1999. It replaced Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, making the Toad attraction at Disneyland in California a one-of-a-kind.
