Who Framed Roger Rabbit? I Tried, But This Map Is Too Big!

Roger Rabbit debuted in 1988, and at the time, he frequently appeared alongside Mickey, Donald and Goofy at the Disney Parks. Disney had big plans for Roger Rabbit, but since he is co-owned with Amblin Entertainment, and Disney started generating their own hit characters like Ariel, Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast, Roger quietly vanished.

This map is from Walt Disney World in Florida circa 1990. There is no Roger Rabbit attraction at Walt Disney World, but Disneyland in California and Tokyo Disneyland in Japan have a Roger Rabbit dark ride---Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin. I finally got to ride it in 2008. The wait time was 40 minutes, and the park was not busy at all---this is not a high capacity ride. Riders spin on Lenny the Cab (Benny's brother) through Toontown. Most of the kids riding it had no clue who Roger was. The attraction is nicely done, but I have a feeling that it must be tempting to change the theme of the ride to a more marketable franchise.

If Roger Rabbit were a human actor, he'd probably be in rehab right now. Poor Roger!

I'd like to see Roger Rabbit and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit together somehow. Maybe a stop-motion animation Easter Special?

    1. Even those who don't scream loudly during the skyscraper bit tend to scream silently in their minds.
